Courage to Care Power Apps Schools Program and Volunteer Database

The Client

Courage to Care Victoria is a non-profit organisation that informs and educates Victorians about the dangers of prejudice, racism and discrimination.

The Problem

Courage to Care asked 365 Assist to provide a modern solution to replace our Schools Program and Volunteer Microsoft Access Database. Over the lifecycle of the Access database it had become too complex for us to use and maintain and could not sustain Courage to Care’s growth journey.

We needed a solution that could provide our specific bespoke needs with minimal upfront or implementation costs. Therefore, the low-code cloud solution recommended by 365 Assist seemed the appropriate approach. They provided a solution that was built in Microsoft Power Apps using Dataverse as the Data Source. Power BI reports were built for complex reporting.

How we helped

365 Assist worked closely with the our staff throughout the implementation. Led by 365 Assist, we started by gathering requirements through a series of workshops with their Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Then they provided a cycle of draft designs in Power Apps to ensure that the approach was correct. After all the data design and screens were implemented, our users were trained.. 365 Assist provided services to bulk translate the data from MS Access to the Dataverse Database.

“Since implementing the database Courage to Care has substantiality improved its operational activities due to increased efficiency by reducing data management. The organisation has enjoyed improvements in management and customer reporting.

As Courage to Care continues to grow, we are confident that 365 Assist can easily expanded their Power Apps Database to further automate routine tasks.”
